Meet Our Staff

Dean Peterson, DVM       

Practice Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Peterson has a Master's degree in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Reproductive Physiology.  He started the practice in Janesville in 1978 after doing an internship at the internationally known Haggard Equine Institute in Lexington, Kentucky.   Dr. Peterson graduated from Michigan State University and is a current member of the WVMA, AAEP, AVMA, and WEPA.  He has been president of the local vet association, RVVMA, the Wisconsin Equine Practitioners Association,  and the state vet association, WVMA.  He is active in local, state and national committees.  He presently serves on the Wisconsin 4-H foundation.  In addition, he is a member of Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church and the Janesville Morning Rotary Club.  Dr. Peterson's special interests are Equine lameness, reproduction, and surgery.  He is also the proud Grandpa of Gracie, Tucker, Brittany, Logan, and Morgan.  

 

Alli Uphill, DVM

Veterinarian

 

Dr. Alli attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls as an undergraduate before being accepted to the Veterinary School at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. During her fourth year of veterinary school, she held externships in Colorado and Wyoming where she worked with an equine surgeon and acquired additional experience in equine medicine. Dr. Alli joined the practice in July of 2007 and serves both small animal and equine patients. Her special interests include equine reproduction and preventative medicine for canine, feline and equine patients.  She is currently a member of the AVMA and WVMA.  Dr. Alli has two Catahoula Leopard dogs named Riley & Korbyn and four horses.  In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, running, biking and snowboarding.  She has been a show waterskier for 15 years, as well as a competitive barefoot waterskier.  Dr. Alli loves meeting new clients and their pets and will give you the best possible care she can provide.

 

Amanda Henry, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician 

Amanda joined JAMC in March of 2001.  She graduated from Madison Area Technical College in 1998.  Your pets will be in the best care with Amanda, as she has a lot of compassion and takes great pride in keeping your pets comfortable while they are here.  She has a special interest in animal behavior, so see her with any general pet behavior questions.  Amanda has a Pug, Rottweiler, and two cats.  She enjoys spending time with her husband Shane, step-son Corey, daughter Delena and son Landon.

 

 

 

 

Sabrina Freter, CVT

Certified Veterinary Technician

Sabrina started at JAMC in February of 2006 as a large animal veterinary technician.  She received a degree in Veterinary Technology from MATC in 2002.  Prior to working for JAMC, she worked for an Equine surgeon, assisting with surgery and anesthesia.  These  days, you'll probably see Sabrina at our clinic on a Saturday working at the front desk.  She lives in Orfordville with her husband, two children and two dogs.  She enjoys riding, walking her dogs, and spending time with her family in Western Wisconsin.

 

 

 

 

Kate Grob

Veterinary Assistant

Kate joined JAMC in January of 2006.  She grew up on a small horse farm in Evansville, and the rest they say is history.  Horses continue to be a big part of her life, as well as cats and dogs.  Her passion in life is animal rescue and rehabilitation.  She lives in Orfordville and spends her spare time riding and working with her horses.  Kate shares her life with her husband, horses, retired Greyhound, Labs, Shelties, and cats.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jess Zigler

Veterinary Assistant

Jess is the newest member of our team.  She joined the practice in August 2008 after doing her summer internship here.  She is working toward her becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician and expects to graduate from Madison Area Technical College in the spring of 2009.

Rhonda Streich

Practice  Manager     

Working as the Practice Manager, Rhonda makes sure things run smoothly from day to day in the clinic.  Having worked for Dr. Peterson for many years, she has a good understanding of both small and large animals, as well as being sure that the best interests of the clients and their animals are met.  She is a member of the Wisconsin Veterinary Practice Managers Association, helping her to gain knowledge to be sure that our clinic and staff best fit the needs of our clients.  She lives on a farm with her husband and four children, and is very involved in Rock County 4-H, the Rock County 4-H Fair, and her Church.  Rhonda also spends lots of time with her sewing machine and visiting fabric and quilt stores.

 

 

 

Kathy LaBarre

Receptionist

 

Kathy started at JAMC in February 2007, and these days you'll probably only see her at the front desk on a Saturday.  She has three dogs and four cats, the majority of which are rescued!  Kathy's hobbies include gardening, knitting, antiquing, and spending time with her pets.  Kathy has two children, Alex and Cheryl, and three grandchildren, Nick, Jared and Avery.  She loves getting to know all of the clients and pets that come into the clinic!

 

Lindsay Hanson

Receptionist

Lindsay joined us in the spring of 2002.  She started out cleaning the clinic but has left her mop and bucket behind to work at the front desk.  Lindsay received her BBA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2005.  When she's not at work, she spends her time reading, playing with her dog, watching movies and learning how to golf and ski.  She lives in Janesville with her husband, Dustin, a Weimaraner named Joplin and a cat named Ernie.

Tammy Oberdeck

Receptionist

Tammy is our newest receptionist and has been with the practice since June 2008.  She spends most of her day in the phone center or helping at the front desk.  Tammy graduated from Blackhawk Technical College in May 2008 with a degree as an Office Specialist.  She is always busy at home taking care of her husband, Jeff, her three horses, Jet, Nelly and Kelsey, her dog, Bourbon, and lots of barn cats.  She likes to spend her free time riding horses, farming, playing with Bourbon and camping.  Tammy likes working at JAMC because there's always something new and exciting to learn.

Kathy Wolf 

Groomer 

Kathy joined JAMC in July of 2001.  She brings with her the patience and skills needed to be a great groomer.  You can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in great hands while here for grooming.  Kathy lives in Janesville with her husband, a Cocker Spaniel named Sierra, a Sheltie named Chico and a Pomeranian named Duchess.  She became a proud grandma when her daughter had baby Gracelyn in February 2008.  Call Kathy today to schedule an appointment!  (Check out her website by clicking the "Kat's K-9 Clips" link above.)

Keri Titus

Support Staff

Keri has been with Janesville Animal Medical Center since April 2007, and she is an important part of the clinic's support staff.  She does a great job cleaning the clinic and loves to visit with the patients that are spending the night.  Her family consists of her husband, Tim, and two sons, Steve and Matt.  Keri has Maggie, a St. Bernard, Eddie, a Labrador Retriever, and Oreo the cat to complete her family.  Her hobbies include gardening, collecting primitive antiques, cooking and baking.  Keri always wanted to be a veterinarian when she was young, and now she is helping animals by keeping the facility they come to clean.
